Over 15 years, we have optimised corporate functions, reorganised management structure, and, seeking efficient management of Vilnius district heating sector, have reduced the staff numbers and introduced an efficient staff training and skill improvement system. Vilniaus energija now runs on modern management principles, and is more efficient than before.
In the period of 2002 to 2016, the management structure of the company was revised, and improved staff functions (their number was reduced from 1,500 to 780).
In 2015, a collective agreement was signed by the employer and the 3 trade unions present. The agreement deals with professional, social, and economic conditions and guarantees available to the staff members.
The company regularly conducts systematic staff training, improvement of skills, runs a number of seminars, training of reserve skilled technical staff, and implements internal training projects.
Employee health and safety system BS OHSAS 18001:2007 is now introduced; it demonstrates work environment at Vilniaus energija complies with professional health and safety requirements.
