We started with inefficient Vilnius district heating sector, and over 15 years, have mainly focussed on upgrade of cogeneration power plants, renovation of routes, installation of heating stations, development of biofuel consumption, and implementation of latest IT. We have invested more than was planned under lease agreement on heating sector with Vilnius municipality, including EU support to the value of EUR 8.636 million.
Veolia enters inefficient Vilnius heating sector.
Installation of the system has allowed residents to save approx. 20-25% of heating.
Natural gas main supply line is now in place from the transmission grid of the third cogeneration power plant of Vilnius to the second cogeneration power plant of Vilnius. Once the company has refused service of distribution of natural gas, it has cut down approx. 10% on gas acquisition services.
IT and communication, upgrading of cogeneration and district boiler stations, reconstruction of boiler stations, investment related to emergency situation or economic activities, as well as upgrading and renovation of local boiler stations and adjacent grids.
Customers of heating now benefit from lower heating price and pollution was reduced.

A reliable and stable heating supply is ensured to customers in the event of accident in the heating grid.

Without increasing fuel need, heating capacity of the power plant was increased. Emissions of carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) and other pollutants in the atmosphere were reduced. Economizer now allows recuperating up to 20% of heating from smoke.
Contribution to the development of “green electricity”.

The municipality has refused an opportunity to cut down on heating generation costs and CO² emissions.

The software allows for a more convenient analysis of financial performance, management of internal processes and organising interaction of customers.
Since the municipality has refused, as of 2016, generating facilities employed at the third power plant no longer meet emission requirements, and therefore cannot operate at optimum mode.
The Government has refused to take opportunity and reduce the heating rate for Vilnius residents by approx. 20%.

Regular improvement and preservation of environmental protection.
In 2002 to 2015, heating courses were reconstructed, thereby securing a more reliable supply of heating and hot water to customers, and the losses of heating are now record low (at 12% down from 24%).
In 2002 to 2015, in the course of connection of new customers to the grid and installation of heating stations, heating saving and improved quality of heating services was secured.
In 2015 to 2016, in course of reconstruction, smoke emissions into atmosphere were reduced, and a contribution made to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2014 to 2016, in course of reconstruction, smoke emissions into atmosphere were reduced, and a contribution made to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
In the period of 2002 to 2016, 150 underperforming group hot water boiler stations were replaced with 3,161 latest heating stations. Supply of heating grid was reduced from 145 to 27 t/h. Heating supply efficiency and adequate flow of coolant in the house system was secured and increased, consequently heating devices demonstrate gradual heating in housing of customers. Energy is now used with greater efficiency.
